9TH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY, SUNDAY 18th AUGUST 2019
You are all most welcome for today’s service in mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.
Trinity is Christian doctrine which states that, “God is one in His Essential Being, the divine essence exists in three modes or form, each constituting a person, hence God the Father (1st), the Son (2nd), and the Holy Spirit (3rd)”.
Today we shall focus on God the Holy Spirit, the 3rd person who is the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, and He spoke through the prophets.
Last Sunday we focused on the works of the Holy Spirit mainly as to convict us to the truth, makes bold to God’s mission and walk in light.
This morning, we shall focus on the fruits of the Holy Spirit arising from the above that if the works of the Holy Spirit are alive and functional in you, then you will automatically produce fruits as follows in Gal. 5:22- 23
The above fruits in our lives enables us crucify the flesh with its passion and desires as evident in Gal. 5:19-21 so that we can have a fulfilling life here on earth and after.
In summary, the Holy Spirit is God and one of the three parsons of the Trinity as the 3rd. His work is mainly to bring to fulfilment or completion of the work that has been planned by God the Father and began or accomplished by God the Son.
You are therefore obliged to believe and trust in God the Holy Spirit, the giver of life for fulfilment and empowerment for service.
Blessings in Christ Jesus.
