FAMILY AS A ROLE MODEL IN STEWARDSHIP: CHILDREN

6TH SUNDAY OF EPIPHANY SUNDAY OF 17th FEBRUARY 2019

You are all welcome once again to worship with us in this service and thank you very much for choosing to come to St. Luke’s Chapel Mulago.

We continue to team up with the rest of the Christians to follow this year’s theme, namely; “Take care of this child”.

Today we focus on Family as role model in stewardship. It was the original plan of God to create man in his own image which he did as written in Genesis 27:23 and God blessed them to multiply and fill the earth and subdue it.

In Psalm 122:3-5, David tells us how Children are heritage from God. And blessed is people who have them are many.

God’s plan was for man to produce Godly offspring’s. Malachi 2:14-15.

Parents are stewards, God first entrusted us with children and he expects us to teach all our children his word and his principles but when we don’t do it that means we have disobeyed him. Deuteronomy. 6:7-9.

There are many consequences when we don’t do our work.

Adam and Eve failed to teach their children and the end result was the death of Abel and earth being cursed and Cain being cursed Gen. 4:9-15.

Ely’s family was wiped away by God after him failing to guide his children Isaiah 2:12-17, 3:10-13.

We cannot teach our children Godly values when we as parents are not children of God, what we have is what we give our children.

God calls us to become his children John 1:12.

Then when we are changed, we can transfer this to our children.

In Romans 8:16-17, the word of God calls us children which means not only children but heirs and co-heirs with Christ.
