Mulago, Kampala – August 3, 2025
On Sunday, August 3rd, 2025, St. Luke’s Chapel at Mulago Hospital hosted a powerful and uplifting worship experience during its three Sunday services held at 7:15 AM, 8:45 AM, and 10:15 AM. The services were led by Rev. Dr. Ricky Byaruhanga, who delivered a deep and inspiring sermon centered on the theme: “Being a Member of Christ’s Family; Implications.”
The message, rooted in Psalms 133:1–3, Ephesians 4:11–32, and Luke 9:57–62, emphasized the beauty of unity, the call to spiritual maturity, and the cost of true discipleship. The services attracted hospital staff, patients, and members of the surrounding community, with many also joining via the live stream.
Sermon Highlight: “Being a Member of Christ’s Family; Implications”
Rev. Dr. Byaruhanga shared a simple but profound message reminding believers that being part of Christ’s family is both a privilege and a responsibility. Below is a short summary of the sermon:
1. Unity in the Body (Psalm 133:1–3):
“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” Dr. Byaruhanga reminded the congregation that the Church is not a building but a family of believers called to walk together in love and peace. Unity is the first sign of a healthy spiritual family.2. Growth and Maturity (Ephesians 4:11–32):
He encouraged believers to grow in faith, serve with their spiritual gifts, and let go of bitterness, anger, and selfishness. “We are not just members—we are ministers in our own right,” he said. “Every member of Christ’s body has a role to play.”3. Commitment and Sacrifice (Luke 9:57–62):
Finally, he reminded everyone that following Christ requires commitment. “Some want to follow Jesus, but not at the cost of comfort,” he noted. “Membership in Christ’s family demands full devotion—it’s a journey of sacrifice, but one that leads to eternal reward.”
A Day to Remember
The worship services were filled with joyful praise, heartfelt prayer, and deep reflection. Many attendees testified that the sermon touched their hearts and challenged them to live more intentionally as part of Christ’s family.
The chapel leadership expressed gratitude for the strong turnout and for everyone who joined the services both physically and online. The success of the service once again confirmed the chapel’s role as a spiritual home for many in the hospital and surrounding community.
