CONSISTENTLY AND EARNESTLY COMMUNING WITH GOD IN PRAYERS

Sermon Title:

Main Scriputres that were red

PSALMS 86:1-17

ACTS 12:1-17

LUKE 11:1-13

Introduction:

Ord. Tumain Joseph opened by reminding the congregation that prayer is not just a ritual but a divine communion with the Creator. He emphasized that in the days we are living, consistency and earnestness in prayer are no longer optional—they are vital.

Key Points:

1. Understanding Prayer as Communion

  • Prayer is not only asking—it’s also listening, waiting, and fellowshipping with God.
  • Genesis 3:8 – Adam walked with God. Prayer restores that intimacy.
  • Communion with God keeps our spiritual senses alert and our hearts aligned with His will.

2. Consistency: The Power of a Daily Habit

  • Consistency builds spiritual discipline and intimacy.
  • Daniel 6:10 – Daniel prayed three times a day even when it was dangerous.
  • Develop a prayer schedule, not just an emergency hotline to God.

3. Earnestness: Praying with Zeal and Sincerity

  • Earnest prayers come from a heart that deeply desires God’s intervention.
  • James 5:16b – Elijah’s prayer brought rain after drought. He was earnest.
  • Being passionate in prayer doesn’t mean being loud, but being deeply sincere.

4. Barriers to a Consistent Prayer Life

  • Distractions (phones, social media, busyness)
  • Spiritual lethargy
  • Unbelief or discouragement due to unanswered prayers
  • Ord. Tumain encouraged setting aside time, creating a prayer-friendly environment, and surrounding oneself with praying believers.

5. Practical Steps to Grow in Prayer

  • Set a daily time and space for prayer.
  • Keep a prayer journal to record requests and answers.
  • Use Scripture as a prayer foundation.
  • Join a prayer group or accountability partner.
  • Fast occasionally to deepen your prayer intensity.

Challenge to the Church:

Ord. Tumain Joseph challenged the congregation to rekindle their personal prayer altars. He said, “If you want to stay strong in your walk with God, you must stay in His presence daily. Consistency brings spiritual authority; earnestness brings results.”

Conclusion:

A consistent and earnest prayer life transforms you. It brings clarity, power, intimacy, and victory. Prayer is not just a duty—it is your lifeline.

“Revive your prayer altar. Guard your prayer life. That is where battles are won.” – Ord. Tumain Joseph
