JESUS IS LORD AND SAVIOUR

7TH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY, SUNDAY OF 15TH JULY 2018

Service Led by Namirembe Brethren

You are all welcome to the service in the most precious name of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. In a special way we welcome our guests of today, may the Lord bless you as we worship together

Our topic today is Jesus Christ is Lord and saviour.

According to John (1:29) “… look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world”. Jesus is that Lamb of God; he laid down his life as a sacrifice for the sin of everyone in the world. Anyone who believes in him is saved; their sin is washed away in the blood of Jesus (the Lamb that was slain). To that extent he is the saviour of the world. There is no other name under heaven through which we can be saved, except the name Jesus (Acts 4:12). So what he accomplished on the Calvary cross constitutes the salvation mission of the world. While his lordship is derived through who He is, that is God the son who was obedient to death; death on the cross: He never went contrary to what the Father purposed him to do. The word of God further says; “…if you make the most high your dwelling, even the Lord who is my refuge, then no harm will befall you. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways, they will lift you up in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the Lion and the cobra; you will trample the great Lion and the Serpent. Because he loves me, “says the Lord, “I will rescue him and I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me and I will answer him, I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation”. (Psalm 91:9-16).

Have you Received Jesus Christ into Your Life?

You may pray this prayer,

Heavenly Father thank you for sending your son Jesus Christ to come and die on the Calvary cross for my sins which are very many. Forgive me for every sin committed and wash me with your son’s blood. Fill me with the Holy Spirit and make me the kind of the person you want me to be. This I pray in the most precious name of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.

If you have prayed the above prayer, know that God has forgiven your sins, you have become his child, and Jesus Christ is your Lord and Saviour. Seek fellowship with other Christians, be in the word of God, pray all the time, witness for Jesus Christ and so grow in your faith.

Conclusion;

Therefore, knowing God as our Lord through embracing Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord will ensure that you have life and life in its fullness (see John 10:10)

May the Lord’s name be praised for ever and ever Amen.
